Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made available the facility of editing, correcting or removing any discrepancy in the uploaded images in JEE Main 2017 Application Form. The facility - “Remove Discrepancy in Uploaded Images” has been made available on December 10, 2016. Candidates who have filled in their application form, paid the required fee can avail the facility of making changes, correcting or editing the uploaded images of their photograph and signature. For editing or removing discrepancy in the uploaded images, candidates have to long in using their JEE Main 2017 Application number and password.
For admission, the year 2017-18, scanned images of applicants’ thumb impression is not required while filling the application form of JEE Main. Candidates now need to upload scanned images of their photograph and signature only, whereas, till the admission year 2016-17, the applicants were required to upload scanned images of their photograph, signature and thumb impression.
According to the instructions by CBSE, before filling JEE Main 2017 application form, the candidates should have a scanned image of his/her photograph and signature. These scanned images are to be uploaded during the submission of application form. The photograph should be colour or b/w (but clear contrast) with the name of the candidate and date of taking the photograph printed on it. It should be without cap or goggles. Spectacles are allowed.
Polaroid photos are not acceptable. Candidates with unclear photograph are liable to be rejected. Candidates may keep 6-8 identical photographs in reserve for use at the time of entrance examination, Seat Allocation Process and Admission.
CBSE has released online JEE Main application form 2017 on December 1. The last date to apply online for JEE Main 2017 is January 2. The JEE Main 2017 application form fee can be paid through net banking/debit card/credit card, E-Challan, Paytm and SBI Buddy until January 3, 2017.
For JEE Main 2017, CBSE has made Aadhaar Card number mandatory for the application form. However, Aadhaar Card number is not required by the candidates belonging to the states of Assam, Meghalaya and Jammu & Kashmir. Candidates from these 3 states have to enter their passport number, bank account number, ration card number or any other valid government identity number while filling the application form of JEE Main 2017.
