R.K.Institute of Management and Computer Science is founded by key academic and industry professionals with a view to meet the growing demands from the industry for managers and IT professionals. Carved out of Mysore University in 1964 with only 32 affiliated colleges and a student strength of 16000, it has now grown into a vast academic empire having jurisdiction over Bangalore Urban and Rural districts, Kolar and Tumkur districts. Besides colleges for arts, commerce, science, management, education and law, it has also colleges of engineering and technology with a student strength of 250,000.
